My weekly Sunday Snapshot blog gives me an opportunity to look back on my sleeper picks from the past week and rate their performance.
Gavin Floyd
Floyd did it again. He went seven scoreless innings against Atlanta, striking out nine, only to get a no-decision. Though Floyd is not always getting the run support necessary to win games, he has been pitching well of late. In his last 29 innings, Floyd has lowered his season ERA from 6.64 to 4.80. Look for the talented starter to continue to lower his ERA while beginning to pick up wins as his White Sox begin to produce. Floyd should be a decent end-of-rotation starter in most mixed formats from here on out.
David DeJesus
I recommended DeJesus as a streaking option who could provide a decent average as a stopgap fantasy outfielder. Though he didn't produce the stellar average I had hoped for, he still hit .280 on the week and added two RBI's. Look for DeJesus to continue to hit for average but not much else. He is a fringe outfielder who can continue to be used as a stopgap option in most mixed formats.
Jeff Francoeur
Francoeur was the second sleeper to really burn me this season. I have been riding his hot streak for several weeks in my 10 team mixed league and it finally came back to haunt me. Over the past week, Francoeur hit just .158 with one RBI and a stolen base. Francoeur is a streaky option who will be valuable again this season; but, for right now, he is waiver wire material. Drop the struggling Mets outfielder in all but the deepest of mixed formats.
