This is a special edition of my weekly Saturday Sleepers blog which provides fantasy owners with three sleeper options for the upcoming fantasy period.
Felipe Lopez
Since taking over for the injured David Freese in the St. Louis Cardinals lineup, Lopez has been on a roll. He has batted .345 over the stretch and deserves a look in deeper mixed leagues. Lopez's value lies in the fact that he qualifies at several fantasy positions, including both middle infield slots. Look for Lopez to come out swinging in the second half and to enjoy everyday starts through the month of July.
Alexei Ramirez
Ramirez has been disappointing this season after a solid 2009 campaign. However, in July, he is batting .353 with two home runs and a stolen base. Look for the White Sox second baseman to capitalize on his matchups this week; he is facing three right handed pitchers on the road. His splits this season seem to favor road games and right handed pitchers, so look for a solid week out of Ramirez.
Angel Pagan
The Mets outfielder has already set career highs in home runs and steals. Look for him to continue to best his career marks in other categories over the second half. The Mets have confirmed that Pagan will remain a starter, even with the return of Carlos Beltran. That move will push outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the bench. Look for Pagan to continue to capitalize on his increase in at-bats to put together a career season.
